There's a particular kind of quiet that settles in on a slow Sunday — the laundry's caught up (mostly), nobody needs to be anywhere, and the whole day just... slows. That's when I pull out the tea tray. Not because I'm always a big tea drinker, honestly, but because setting the tray is the ritual. It's the thing that tells my brain it's okay to sit down now.
The Tray Started Out Pretty Rough
This particular tray came from a thrift store, and it was not love at first sight — dinged up, dated finish, the kind of piece most people would scroll right past. But I could see the shape of what it could be, and that's usually all it takes for me to bring something home.

I don't rush filling the kettle either. Stand there, let it whistle, warm the pot before you steep. None of this saves time — that's the whole point.
